Dismissal Changes
Dismissal Changes
Unless the office is notified otherwise, students are required to follow their normal dismissal schedule everyday. This schedule comes from transportation and can only be changed with transportation.
To pick a student up early:
-
Send in a dismissal pass (or handwritten note) the day you plan to pick up your child.
-
The latest early pickup time is 3:00 PM.
-
Parents must come to the office to sign out the student; the office will call them down once you arrive.
To pick up a student at dismissal:
- Send in a dismissal pass (or handwritten note) the day you plan to pick up your child.
- Pick-up starts at 3:30 PM
- Every student has a driveline or family number that is used at dismissal. Have this number on your vehicle dashboard
- The number resets every school year.
- Call the main office to get your child’s number or confirm you have the correct one.
To ride the bus:
All bus passes must be approved by transportation in writing in advance. Review the transportation page for specific guidance.
Bus Pass Requests:
The Transportation Department wants to partner with families of our K-5 students to allow for bus passes. We do allow bus passes for emergency circumstances. More about our pass policy can be found on our website at Bus Passes for CRPS and FRES.
Any change in a student's usual transportation plan introduces logistical and communication challenges that may compromise the safe delivery of the child. Every time a change is made, we need to communicate the change with a great many people (we must verify that the pass is correct, we must tell our bus drivers, and the school’s clerical staff and teachers need to know of the changes to ensure the students get on the correct bus). Any breakdown in communication may result in a child getting on the wrong bus.
We need complete information from our parents when submitting a bus pass request. Starting on Monday, April 27 we will be asking parents to use a new ParentSquare form.
This form will help the Transportation Department get the information it requires to process and authorize bus passes.
Passes need to be submitted no later than 1 p.m. each day. We need time to verify and communicate changes. Any requests received after 1 p.m. may not be accommodated.
Please remember, your child's school also needs to be notified so that school-based staff can assist in making sure your child rides the appropriate after school bus.
Thank you,
The Transportation Department
