Dear Families:

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at French Road Elementary School! Along with the staff, we are excited to welcome your child to this new school year.   We remain committed to working with you to provide a quality education for every child.

During the school year you will receive information through Parent Square*, newsletters, bulletins, and parent/teacher conferences.  Informal contact is made through notes, phone calls, e-mails, eNews and Brighton’s website. We want to know your questions, comments, ideas and concerns.  Please keep us informed about your child.  In addition, I have included important information to keep on your radar as we get closer to the start of the school year.

Parent Square is our main mode of communication, please refer to the email sent out from
district on Monday, August 7 about setting up the Parent Square App.   Parent Square    messages also default to your email on file for those not on the Parent Square App.

Popsicles with the Principal: We invite you to join us in front of FRES on Tuesday, August 29 from 7:15-8:15 to have a cold treat and introduce yourself to Ms. Coggins.  As our playground is still under construction, we will be gathering for a quick hello under the awning by the main entrance.  Please ue the main parking lot instead of the front bus loop.  We will have driveline pick up numbers available for those who have registered for parent pick up for dismissal available during Popsicles with the Principal as well.  Please have your ID on hand to pick up your driveline numbers.

PTSA: You are invited to be a partner in your child’s education by visiting the school, participating in the Parent Teacher Student Association’s (PTSA) activities, volunteering, and attending our special events.  The calendar is most helpful in keeping track of events and the six-day cycle schedule.  Look for PTSA emails for more information on upcoming events. The PTSA calendar will be available for purchase in the coming weeks and more information about where you can purchase the calendars will be emailed when they are available.

New Student Orientation: For families new to FRES (newly registered to the district or not in attendance at the 3^rd Grade Orientation in May), we will be holding a new student orientation prior to Popsicles with the Principal on Tuesday, August 29 at 6:30-7:15 in the cafetorium.
