Extended Studies
Extended Studies Services at French Road
Brighton Central School District offers a continuum of Extended Studies Services designed to meet students' varied readiness, skills, interests, and strengths.
At French Road, Extended Studies Services (ESS) provides enrichment opportunities for students in grades 3–5. These experiences are designed to extend learning and provide opportunities for students to explore interests, think creatively, solve problems, and engage in challenging learning experiences.
ESS services at FRES may include classroom enrichment, consultation with classroom teachers, and small-group enrichment opportunities.
Small-Group Enrichment
Students may participate in small-group enrichment during WIN (What I Need) time. Groups are organized around specific units or areas of study and provide opportunities for students to investigate topics in greater depth, collaborate with peers, and apply higher-level thinking and problem-solving skills. Because students have different strengths and interests, participation in ESS small groups may vary throughout the year.
