Family Members Join P.E. Classes at FRES

French Road Elementary School physical education teachers invited students’ family members to join in on classes as part of Peeps to P.E. in April.

William Potter, a teacher from Belmont, Calif., created this nationwide event in 2019 to show parents that physical education is not what it used to be. FRES families were able to see students thoughtfully interact with peers in engaging lessons. Mr. Goodwill covered team building activities with a focus on communication and cooperation. Mr. Salerno taught handball and students were exploring moving through open space and guarding space on defense. Mr. Biehl was wrapping up manipulation skills where students were practicing shooting to score in a variety of different sports.
